Chris,

The GPS seems to take over the entire system when it is running, given you no control over anything unless you exit out of it. I also had to plug in the same wire you where talking about. I may not have mentioned it. Only mentioned the other 2 wires because I never seen them. I knew other people would of had the same issue.

Also hopefully if people read this comment, I may add I have been charged £30 vat via DHL. I got an invoice in the post last week. So don't be surprised if DHL send you an invoice, requiring you to pay VAT.

Hey thank you soooo much. i've now received my stereo and its brilliant. I would have had no idea without your instructions. I followed the step to connect the two wires to get steering wheel controls to work but the centre console still didn't work. To do this i had to take a cable that was originally plugged into the old 1 line display console and connect it to a wire with a plastic box on it from the new bundle of wires. maybe this has changed from your version, anyway hope this helps others.

I do have one question, can you change the music volume when you have the GPS running? The GPS when running seems to stop me from chaging to other inputs cd/dvd/radio etc or change channels/volume. I have to exit and close down the GPS to do this.

Cathal,

Looks like you don't have the extra bluetooth kit in your car. So only way you will get the bluetooth function is by changing your radio or buying an after market kit(like a parrot mki 9100). Only time I've seen the steering wheel controls work on an Insignia with out the Vauxhall bluetooth kit, is on the touch screen radio I used to replace my original vauxhall unit. You can see it in the other post on this site.

Hi Joe,

Did you ever get your handsfree kit sorted? I have been asking places to do this for me
in Northern Ireland this past 3 months and keep getting different answers. Basically what
i want is a handsfree kit worked by bluetooth that allows me to use the functions currently
on my steering wheel of my vauxhall insignia. Some people say the bluetooth might just
be turned off but this seems to simple. Once i go to phone settings through the centre console
it says not available. Can what i want be done?

Reason it no longer works is because you have just removed the GPS software. By deleting the iGo8 folder of the SD. The unit no longer has GPS software to run, as it ran the GPS software of the SD card.

Deveus,
I just have the standard antenna, have no issue's with it at all. Didn't require any extras to get it to work either.

Anyone here have a 'shark fin' antenna on their car with one of these units installed? I'm getting terrible reception even though I've installed a phantom power supply adaptor inline with the Fakra connector.

Armando,

1 wheel does the volume and turns the unit off and on(same as normal).
The bigger one is used for moving around the screen to select different things.

Cheers,
J
